- Glanced Crack(天穿)
- ‘Glanced Crack’ portrays the cyclical nature of life through formations, movements, labor, rest, and interweaving, inviting the audience to contemplate the close relationship between culture, mythology, nature, and the world.
‘Glanced Crack’ draws inspiration from the Chinese mythology "Nuwa Mends the Heavens," combining elements of Taiwan's Hakka culture with the distinctive style of choreographer LAI Hung-chung. It presents the ancient mythological symbolism alongside contemporary significance, creating a thought-provoking fusion of Eastern (South Korean & Taiwanese) dances.
The theme and background of the piece are rooted in the Hakka cultural tradition of "Heaven Mending Day (Tianchuan Day/ thien chhon ngit)" on the twentieth day of the first lunar month, emphasizing the concept of the unity of heaven, earth, and humanity in Hakka culture. Through the philosophical exploration of restful living, the work deeply examines life’s eternal cycle and connection. The dance style incorporates elements of Taichi-Dowing and contemporary dance, created by LAI Hung-chung, combined with the characteristics of dancers from the Daegu City Dance Company.
